On March 1, the Washington Post reported that Sessions met with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak in July and September — at the height of a presidential campaign which was already roiled by accusations of Russian government interference. But when Senator Al Franken asked Sessions under oath whether he or other members of the Trump campaign ever communicated with the Russian government, Sessions answered, “I did not have communications with the Russians.”
That’s not misleading. That’s a bald-faced lie. Pressure is mounting on Jeff Sessions, who has now announced he will recuse himself from any investigations “related in any way to the campaigns for president of the United States.”1
Tell your members of Congress: Jeff Sessions must resign. We need an independent and complete investigation of Trump’s corruption and foreign ties.
What: Organize a peaceful, legal rally in front of your representative’s office to demand Jeff Sessions resign and an independent, comprehensive investigation into Trump and his administration’s foreign ties. Invite people to speak out about why this is an important issue.
Where: A public, accessible location, in front of your local congressional office.
When: Choose the time that works for your community. Noon or evening are usually good times.
